WATCH | Septicemia Patient's Rumoured Death Triggers Rage; Relatives Vandalise Agra Hospital, Nurse Brutally Assaulted

Agra: Relatives and family members of patient suffering from Septicemia ransacked a private hospital in Agra after rumours of his death on Tuesday afternoon. As per reports, relatives of patient named Irfan even assaulted hospital staff and damaged hospital property.

Soon the video went viral on social media in which family members of the patient can be seen roughing up the staff and nurses. 

The incident took place at the Lotus Hospital in the Hari Parvat police station area in Agra, Uttar Pradesh and relatives can be seen vandalising the hospital premises and brutally attacking a female nurse.

The female staff who tried to intervened was mercilessly attacked by a group of angry relatives. The assaulters dragged the nurse and brutally slammed her with a pedestal fan, a helmet and rods. 

The nurse was severely injured and felt on the floor unconscious as she could not protect herself from the brutal attack.

So far, Agra Police have registered a case and have also arrested 4 accused in the matter. It said that further investigation is underway. 

'Someone created a rumour about the death of the patient but that was not true. Thereafter, some miscreants damaged the hospital property and also beat up hospital staff, including staff nurses. One of the staff was also attacked with a rod,' Superintendent of Police (City) Rohan P Botre told news agency PTI.

The Police informed that the patient, a resident of Abulala Dargah locality, was admitted to the hospital under Hariparwat police station for the treatment of septicemia.
