WATCH: Union Minister Amit Shah Visits Birthplace Of Lord Parshuram In Indore, Offers Prayers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Janapav Kuti, which is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, near the Indore.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited Janapav Kuti, which is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, near the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh. In a video posted by news agency ANI on Twitter, Shah was seen offering prayers at the temple along with the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh government Narottam Mishra was also present to welcome Shah with several other temple priests. After offering prayers, Shah addressed the BJP's 'Vijay Sankalp Sammelan’.

The Janapav Kuti is located in a hilly area, which is about 50 kilometres from Indore city. During the visit, priests present here offered Shah an 'Angavastram' and he prayed amid Vedic chants, said eyewitnesses.

Others who were present on the occasion include State Culture and Tourism Minister Usha Thakur and State BJP President VD Sharma. Party functionaries said around 50,000 BJP workers are expected to attend the Vijay Sankalp Sammelan, which is part of moves to boost its prospects in the year-end Assembly polls.

In Indore, the main political centre of the crucial Malwa-Nimar region which has 66 of the total 230 Assembly seats, the former BJP national president spoke to booth-level BJP workers.

"In the past, attempts were made to mislead the public with bogus (polls) surveys. But during Shah's visit on Sunday, the message that will go across will leave no room for confusion about the Assembly poll results," BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Saturday, as quoted by news agency PTI.

Earlier, the BJP national general secretary had informed that Shah will visit the birthplace of Lord Parshuram at Janapav Kuti, about 50 km from the city during the visit.
