New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a couple looted a jewellery shop and thrashed the owner brutally in Beeramguda of Sangareddy district. A video of a burqa-clad woman went viral on the internet on Wednesday in which she along with another man could be seen robbing gold from the jewellery shop. The jewellery store owner put up a fight and foiled a robbery bid by a couple. The whole incident was recorded in a CCTV camera that was fitted in the shop. The couple looted a kg gold from a jewellery shop after throwing chilly powder in the eyes of the owner of the shop, as per the source. Later he was thrashed brutally by the robbers who reportedly used a toy pistol to threaten the proprietor when he tried to protect his shop property. The police have announced Rs 1 lakh reward for any information that leads to arrest of the culprits. The woman was covered under burkha while the man was wearing a cap in his bid to cover his identity. The shocking theft took place in Beeramguda village in Ameenpur block of Sangareddy district in Telangana which is less than 40km from Hyderabad. Watch Video:

According to the source, the unfortunate incident happened when the proprietor, like every other day, was getting ready to close the shop around 10 pm. Just before shutting down his shop, a couple entered the shop on the pretext of purchasing a chain. As the owner of the shop took out chains, the man threw chilly powder and tried to overpower him. As soon as the owner tried to escape, the woman hit him and the man picked up a pistol which is believed to be a toy pistol and threatened to kill him. The owner struggled and tried to raise an alarm, but the couple overpowered him. They locked him in the washroom and looted his shop.
