Shocking: Man starves to death in UP’s Barabanki
Barabanki: In a heart-rending incident, a man allegedly died of hunger in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district. Family members said the man was hungry of 12 days and died due to starvation. The district administration claimed that he died of ailment not hunger.
The incident is of Pakriha village of Barabanki district. Family members of the deceased Srikant said he lived off alms given to him by the villagers. However, as he fell ill, he couldn’t go out of his house to beg. For the last 12 days, nothing had been cooked in the house, family members said. He died of starvation.
Meanwhile, administration says he died of ailment.
Though, Srinkanth had nothing to eat for the last 12 days, after his death village chief sent four sacks of cereals to his house.
The incident has raked a political storm in the state, which will go to polls next year.
