Bengaluru: Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar and former Karnataka minister BT Lalitha Naik have been provided security cover by the state government after they received alleged death threats.

The Karnataka Home Department cleared the security cover on Monday even as state’s Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai assured a thorough investigation of the case to nab the accused.

Asserting that no one would be spared, Bommai earlier said the state government is taking the matter seriously and will take strict action in this regard.

She, however, declared in the event that she has got security after she “brought to the notice of authorities” the letter received on March 20 by a person named Kareem Challakere stating she will be assassinated on May 1 along with Rajkumar, Ravi and the owner of news channel, IANS reported.
