Shamli, UP: Woman thrown out of house for giving birth to girl child

The woman, who hasn’t yet physically recovered after child birth, is now fighting for justice for her 7-day-old girl child.

Shamli, UP: In a shameful incident, a married woman in Kairana was given Triple Talaq and thrown out of her house by her husband, for giving birth to a girl child.  The husband later sought Rs 50,000 from his wife, in lieu of getting her back home. Where on one hand, the government has been pressing ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao;’ people are still disowning their girl child. The woman, who hasn’t yet physically recovered after child birth, is now fighting for justice for her 7-day-old girl child. The matter falls under Shamli’s Jhinjhana police station, where the woman filed a complaint against her in laws of throwing her out of the house, along with her 7-day-old daughter. The woman further revealed that her husband and his family used to force her to get dowry from her parents’ house. “Now, that I have given birth to a girl child, I have been kicked out of the house and have been asked to not entre house till I get Rs 50,000”. “I have nowhere to go now” she said. The woman got married two years ago. The police have now filed a case against accused husband and are investigating the case.
