Relaxation provided at National Highways after demonetisation ends

New Delhi: The relaxation that was provided on the toll taxes after the demonetisation announcement has been pulled back and the people starting Saturday will have to pay at the toll booths on National highways. Special swipe machines have been arranged for people who don’t want to pay via cash during the time when there is massive cash crunch. ABP News took a close look at the provisions made at NH2 which runs from Varanasi to Gujarat, and links Kolkata to Delhi, the toll plaza on NH2 had services like Paytm and swipe machines. Like any normal day, people stood in lines before the toll booth starting 7 am and no sort of discomfort could be seen among people. As per the manager at the booth, a person paying more than Rs 200 can also use old Rs 500 notes. Also, a slip is also being distributed among people in order to educate them about the new services that are being offered at the toll booths. As per the toll manager, people have been very cooperative and have sufficient amount of money in smaller denominations to pay the toll.
