PM Modi Discusses Afghanistan Situation With Russian Prez Vladimir Putin
The two leaders had a detailed discussion on the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
New Delhi: The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday over the evolving situation in Afghanistan.

Had a detailed and useful exchange of views with my friend President Putin on recent developments in Afghanistan. We also discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, including India-Russia cooperation against COVID-19. We agreed to continue close consultations on important issues.

On Monday, PM Modi spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the situation in Afghanistan and its implications on the region and the world, they emphasized on the need to maintain peace & security.
India began the complex evacuation mission by airlifting 40 Indians from Kabul to Delhi on August 16, 2021, a day after the Taliban seized control of the Afghan capital city.
So far, India has evacuated over 800 people amid a deteriorating security situation in Kabul and scramble by various nations to rescue their citizens.
The Taliban, on Monday, warned that there would be "consequences" if the United States and its allies extended their presence in Afghanistan beyond next week. Meanwhile, chaos continued to overwhelm Kabul airport with tens of thousands of people still desperate to flee.
