Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with school children during the inauguration of the Delhi section of the Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) on Sunday.

The inauguration took place around 11 am. While riding riding the Namo Bharat train from the Sahibabad RRTS station to the New Ashok Nagar RRTS station, school students presented paintings and drawings to PM Modi as he took a ride on the train.

With this inauguration, Namo Bharat trains will now arrive in Delhi. The Namo Bharat trains have now reached Delhi, marking the beginning of a new era of high-speed mobility options for the national capital. The operational length of the corridor has now extended to 55 km, with the addition of two more stations.

Public services on the Namo Bharat trains will commence from 5 PM on Sunday, with a train frequency of 15 minutes. While people travelling from New Ashok Nagar to South Meerut in standard coaches will have to pay Rs 150, those preferring premium ones will have to pay Rs 225.

So far, Namo Bharat trains have served over 50 lakh commuters. Further construction in other sections — New Ashok Nagar-Sarai Kale Khan and Meerut South-Modipuram is progressing at a rapid pace, they said.

Anand Vihar underground station is one of the largest stations on the Namo Bharat corridor. Commuters will be able to travel from here to Meerut South in just 35 minutes.

As a special arrangement for the movement of vehicles and pedestrians at this station, three bridges have been built over the Ghazipur drain. Two of these bridges are to be used for vehicle entry and exit, while one is exclusively for pedestrians.
