Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people on Akshay Tritiya, believed to be an auspicious day for starting new things and making purchases, on Saturday. Noting that the festival is associated with charity and starting new things, Modi wished people happiness, prosperity and good health in a tweet.
"Many many congratulations on Akshaya Tritiya. I wish that this auspicious festival associated with the tradition of beginning charity and auspicious work brings happiness, prosperity and good health in everyone's life," PM Modi wrote.

In another tweet, he greeted people on the birth anniversary of saint Parshuram, worshipped by devouts across the country.

PM Modi also extended his wishes to the nation on the occasion of Eid. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May the spirit of harmony and compassion be furthered in our society. I also pray for everyone’s wonderful health and well-being. Eid Mubarak!"

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday. As per an official release from the President's Secretariat, the President said in her message, "On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all citizens living in India and abroad, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters."
"Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival spreads the feelings of love, compassion and affection. Eid gives us the message of solidarity and mutual harmony. This festival is imbued with the spirit of harmony and inspires us to build a peaceful and prosperous society," she added.
President Murmu further said, "On this occasion, let take a pledge to promote feelings of brotherhood and harmony in the society". Eid marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. People offered namaz, and hugged each other on the auspicious occasion in Bhopal, Mumbai, Delhi and other places i nthe country.
The Char Dham yatra begins today on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya. The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is one of the most popular Hindu pilgrimages in India. This pilgrimage is a tour of four holy sites - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri - nestled high up in the Himalayas. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on April 25 and Gangotri Dham on April 22. With the Char Dham Yatra set to start in Uttarakhand, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, secretary, of the state health department, issued a health advisory for pilgrims on Wednesday.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the daily cap restricting the number of devotees for the Chardham Yatra has been withdrawn, according to an official letter from the Additional Chief Secretary on Friday. The process of online and offline registration will remain the same as it helps keep track of devotees.
