'Parvesh Verma Openly Distributing Cash, Violating MCC': Kejriwal Meets CEC, Demands Raid Against BJP Candidate

Arvind Kejriwal alleged that Verma is blatantly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which came in place after the Election Commission declared the date of polling for assembly poll.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar on Thursday and handed over a formal complaint against BJP's New Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma accusing him of openly distributing cash.

Kejriwal accused Verma of openly distributing Rs 1,100 to women and demanded that a raid should be conducted on the BJP candidate.

Kejriwal alleged that Verma is blatantly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which came in place after the Election Commission declared the date of polling for assembly poll.

In his letter to the CEC, Kejriwal called for the immediate suspension and transfer of the District Election Officer (DEO), alleging bias and failure to ensure fair conduct of the election.

The former CM said that Parvesh Verma is asking for votes on the false promises of giving jobs.

Parvesh Verma, who is contesting the Delhi Assembly Election from the New Delhi constituency, is contesting against Arvind Kejriwal and Congress candidate Sandip Dikshit.
