Owaisi's take on Jinnah: 'We asked Jinnah to get out'

"We are Indians by birth and we are Indians by choice", said Owaisi.

New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi while addressing a gathering cleared his stand over Jinnah controversy. Owaisi said that when elections are approaching in Karnataka parties started taking up the issue of Jinnah’s photo. We totally discard this photo controversy. He asked: “What have we got to do with Jinnah, We are here in India.” He further said: “We are Indians by birth and we are Indians by choice. We had asked Jinnah to get out.” He also said: “We never accepted Jinnah’s two-nation theory”. A controversy over Muhammad Ali Jinnah has spiked up recently. Political parties and top leaders are busy clearing their stand on the matter. While Owaisi flat out refused to acknowledge the founder of Pakistan, former Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar appreciated Jinnah and called him Quaid-e-Azam, drawing flak from BJP chief Amit Shah.
