Mulayam Singh & Mayawati, both have big amount of black money stored: Uma Bharti

New Delhi: Union Minister Uma Bharti has attacked both Mulayam Singh and Mayawati and said that both of them have big amount of black money and without it, they will not be able to win the state election. The Narendra Modi-led BJP government had recently banned old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in an effort to check black money menace and corruption. What Mulayam Singh has said about notes ban: The Samajwadi Party supremo on Thursday had said that the decision of notes ban should be postponed for one week. "Decision taken in haste, it is creating problems for the common man", he said. He also lashed out at Modi for the state of disorder that spread in the entire country as a result of the scrapping of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes. What Mayawati has said about notes ban: The Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, on Thursday, attacked ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular over the notes ban. "Only the people from Gujarat state and Mumbai are benefited from this initiative taken by PM Narendra Modi". BSP Chief said. Mayawati came out all guns blazing and said-"To hide their inefficiency, economic emergency like situations have been created by the govt as elections in UP are coming close". Ex-UP CM also attacked BJP government for helping businessmen. "First, BJP helped businessmen to store black money and now after two years of their government rule they are planning to curb the same." Mayawati also questioned the timing of the decision and said-"PM's decision is bit selfish, if they really wanted to curb black money then why they took this decision after two years." It is pertinent to mention here that Uttar Pradesh is going for polls in 2017 and BSP supremo Mayawati's party is also one of the major contenders. The Congress, Samajwadi Party and BJP are the others. Rs 1000 notes with enhanced security features, will be re-introduced in few months: DEA Shaktikanta Das: In a few months, Rs 1000 notes with enhanced security features, different colour will be re-introduced said Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, on Thursday. He made this statement during the inauguration of Two-day Economic Editors' conference- 2016 in which Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was also present. "From time to time, new series of notes with new features. Designs will be infused in the market", Mr Das said. RBI will closely monitor and release new Rs 2000 notes, said DEA Secretary. "Let me make it clear, legal tender status of existing Rs 100, 50 and other denomination notes will continue to be legal tender," he stressed. All denomination of notes will be reintroduced with new design and new features, Das added. Speaking at the occasion, Finance Minister said-"People depositing small amount (in banks) will not face any problem; revenue department will not take notice of small depositors." Throughout the country all banks have opened on Thursday and the process of exchanging old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes have started. In post offices too, the notes can be exchanged after showing ID proof. "This decision (scrapping of Rs 500/1000 notes) will impact the spending habits of people" FM Arun Jaitley said and added-"For few days people might think that they are facing problems, but in long run they will definitely benefit". Instead of seeing it as a reduction of wealth, it must be seen as transfer of unaccounted wealth, said CEA (Chief Economic Adviser) Arvind Subramanian.
