‘Modi To Become More Powerful Due To Congress’: Mamata’s Salvo In Goa, Seeks To End Centre’s ‘Dadagiri’
The West Bengal Chief Minister targetted the BJP-led Union government as she alleged that there was enough of Delhi’s ‘dadagiri’ (bullying).
New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee, in her fresh salvo at the Congress party, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become more powerful as Congress is not serious about politics.
She also accused the grand old party of not taking decisions.
Amid her three-day visit to the coastal state, Mamata Banerjee addressed a group of media persons on Saturday in Panaji where she said that the country is suffering as the Congress could not take decisions.

Ahead of the upcoming Goa Assembly election where TMC aims to make significant inroads, the party chief said: “I cannot say everything right now because they (Congress) didn't take politics seriously. Modiji is going to be more powerful because of the Congress...If one cannot take decision, why the country should suffer for that?”.
“They (Congress) got opportunity (in the past). Instead of fighting against BJP, they contested against me in my state. Don't you think when they contested against me when they contest my political party in Bengal…,” she added, as quoted by news agency PTI.
TMC has announced that it will be contesting all 40 seats in the upcoming Goa elections. Mamata Banerjee emphasised that the TMC believes in distributing seats for the regional parties in elections.
The West Bengal Chief Minister targetted the BJP-led Union government as she alleged that there was enough of Delhi’s ‘dadagiri’ (bullying).
“I want that the regional parties should be strong. We want that the federal structure should be strong. We should make states strong, if states are strong, then the Centre will be strong. Delhi ka dadagiri amka naka (We don't want Delhi's bullying), enough is enough,” she said, as quoted by PTI.
Hitting out at the Centre over the increasing inflation, Mamata also said that instead of bringing “Ache Din”, they are finishing this country.
“Inflation is high. LPG, diesel-petrol prices have increased. Businesses affected due to GST, exports down but BJP is not serious to solve these issues. They said will bring ‘Ache Din’ but they are finishing this country," she said, as reported by ANI.
When asked about the decisions that she thinks Congress should be taking, Mamata Banerjee said, “I am not going to discuss about the Congress because this is not my party. I have set up my regional party and without any support of anybody, we formed government three times”.
“Let them decide. That is my system also, I don't interfere into any other political party's business, I can say about my political party and our fight will continue. We are not going to bow down our head to BJP,” she added as per PTI.
Later, the TMC supremo visited the Mapusa market and interacted with shopkeepers there.

The West Bengal Chief Minister had also met Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai today in Goa and discussed the matter to “walk together” to fight against the BJP, ANI reported.
Mamata Banerjee is on a visit to Goa as TMC seeks to branch out into new states. Goa Assembly has a strength of 40 members out of which BJP currently has 17 legislators and has the support of legislators from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Vijay Sardesai of the Goa Forward Party (GFP), and three independents.
GFP and MGP each have three MLAs. Congress, meanwhile, has 15 MLAs in the house.
