Maharashtra Became First State To Administer Both Doses Of Covid Vaccine To Over One Crore People
Maharashtra has become the first state in country where one crore people have taken both the doses of the Covid vaccine. More than 9 crore people in India have received both doses of vaccine.
Mumbai: The whole world including India is fighting a war against the Corona epidemic. Vaccination is the only way to defeat this deadly disease. Maharashtra, which was once the most affected by Corona in the country, has become a source of inspiration for all the states of the country today.
Actually, Maharashtra has become the first state in the country where one crore people have taken both the doses of the Covid vaccine. Till Monday, 1,00,99,524 people had received both doses of the vaccine in the state. At the same time, more than 9 crore people in India have received both doses of the vaccine. The total population of adults in Maharashtra is 8.5 crore, out of which 12 percent people have received both doses of the vaccine. At the same time, 25 percent of the people have been given one dose of the vaccine.
At the same time, in UP, the maximum number of 4.52 crore people have been given corona vaccine. There, 73 lakh people have been given both doses of the vaccine. After UP, 4.17 crore people have been given vaccine doses in Maharashtra. The vaccine drive in the state was started from January 16 from 230 centers. At present, their number has increased to 4100 centers.
State Additional Health Secretary Pradi Vyas said that the speed of the vaccine depends on the number of vaccines received. After Monday, we have more than 1.6 million vaccine doses available.
Vyas said that due to the floods in the state, transport services and vaccination have been affected in some villages. For example, yesterday Ratnagiri had less than 400 vaccines. However, even after the flood, more than 8000 vaccinations were completed in Raigad. State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Health Minister Rajesh Tope also appreciated the achievement of the health department.
In the state, 74.28 lakh people in the age group above 45 years have been given both doses of Covid vaccine. At the same time, 1.01 crore people have got a dose of Covid. In the age group of 18-44, 4.5 lakh people have been given both doses of the vaccine, while 99.56 lakh people have been given one dose of the vaccine. In the state, 8.97 health workers have been given both doses of the vaccine while 3.88 lakh health workers have got the first dose.
Both the doses of the vaccine have been given to 11 lakh frontline workers of the state, while 10 lakh workers have received the first dose. After Maharashtra, 59.12 lakh people have been vaccinated in Pune. After a sluggish pace for a few days, 88,019 people were vaccinated in Mumbai city on Monday. At the same time, 200 pregnant women have also been vaccinated.
