West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has recently sent out a personal letter, directly attacking BJP's recent developments, calling it an "assault on democracy and Constitutional federalism in India".
The letter comments on the NCT act as a direct attack in the Federal structure of the Republic that makes a mockery out of Democracy and people's mandate.
The letter that started with the case of the Delhi government, moves further to list down 7 points of BJP power misuses.
1. Biased governors in West Bengal,
2. Misuse of Govt. bodies like ED in Assembly Elections of Tamil Nadu and Bengal,

4. Removal of all demand-placing platforms for states,
5. Privatisation of nation's assets,
6. Deteriorating quality of nation-state relations are some points that feature in the letter.
7. The letter signed by Banerjee also claimed that the defections of elected representatives from non-BJP parties to BJP is a result of BJP's efforts to topple elected non-BJP governments and engineer floorcrossings by their money power.
The letter, that has called for a "united and effective struggle" against BJP's one-party-authoritarianism has been sent to national political figures like Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, M.K.Stalin, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Udhdhav Thackeray, Hemant Soren, Arvind Kejriwal, Naveen Patnaik, Jagan Reddy, K.S. Reddy, Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti etc.
Interestingly, no Left leaders have been invited to participate in this initiative apart from Dipankar Bhattacharya of CPI (ML)
