Kolkata fire: Massive blaze at Bagri Market in Canning Street; 30 Fire engines at spot

Kolkata fire: A massive fire broke out last night at Bagri Market in Canning Street of central Kolkata around 2:35 am. 30 fire engines were immediately rushed to the spot soon after the news broke out. The firefighters are working with all logistic teams to douse the flame, though till now the fire has not been bought under control. As of now, reports of no reports of injury or trapped has been reported as the fire broke out late in the night and no one was present. The fire reportedly broke out on the ground floor of a six storied building at 71, canning street under Hare street police station area. Kolkata Police Commissioner is already present on the spot to supervise the situation last night.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee said that the fire broke around 2:45 am. He added that the authorities are trying their level best but the firefighting operation is tough due to the presence of a number of buildings.
Meanwhile, in a traffic update, DCP Traffic Kolkata informed the citizens that the roads between MG & and Podder Court and Canning Street in between Rabindra Sarani and Brabourne Road will remain shut to traffic due to the fire incident.
