Kejriwal asks CIC to make details about PM Modi's degrees public

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday asked the Central Information Commission (CIC) to make public the details of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualifications.

In a letter to the Central Information Commissioner Professor Madabhushanam Sridhar Acharyulu, Kejriwal said that he has no objection to making his details public as per government records.

"There are questions on Prime Minister Modi's degree. The nation wants to know about it. I have learned that the CIC has denied to publicise the details of the Prime Minister's degree which is wrong," Kejriwal said in his letter.

"The CIC wants to publicise my details, which I have no objection to but subsequently, the CIC wants to hide the details of Prime Minister Modi, which is strange. It raises a question on the neutrality of CIC. I request you to make the details of PM Modi's degree public along with my details," the letter added.

In his election affidavit, Prime Minister Modi had claimed that he had completed a distance education course in political science from Delhi University in 1978.
