Differences In Shiv Sena & NCP Over Kangana Row; Sharad Pawar Meets Uddhav Thackeray Over BMC's Demolition Drive

Sharad Pawar expressed that the move by BMC has ended up giving wrong message to the public and "unnecessary publicity" to the actor.

In middle of the ugly tussle between Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and Maharashtra government over move to demolish actress's office in Mumbai, many have critised Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for taking action against the 'Panga' actress out of 'revenge'. Thackeray led Shiv Sena has not even got the appreciation from Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, whose party is part of the Maharashtra government. Earlier today, Pawar while speaking to the media has expressed that the move by civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, which is controlled by the Shiv Sena, has ended up giving wrong message to the public and "unnecessary publicity" to the actor. "Illegal construction in Mumbai is not a new thing. In view of the present situation, taking action gives space for creating doubts in the minds of people. The BMC has its own rules and officers may have taken action as per what they felt was right," NCP leader said adding that the timing of the demolition drive had sent out a wrong message to the public. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday morning moved in to demolish alleged illegal construction of actress's Manikarnika Office in Mumbai's Pali Hills area. However, the Bombay High Court has put a stay on Mumbai civic body's demolition drive at her property in Mumbai. The order came after BMC already razed parts of Kangana's residence and damaged her office which is a part of her house in Bandra. The war of wards between the 'Queen' actress and Shiv Sena started after Kangana compared Mumbai to PoK. The row aggravated to a ‘Kangana Ranaut versus the state of Maharashtra’ war, with state Home Minister Deshmukh ordering a probe into the actress' alleged involvement in drugs case.
