Jammu & Kashmir: Top LeT Commander Among Two Killed In Handwara Encounter

The slain terrorist was mastermind behind killing of 6 CRPF personnel in recent attacks in North Kahsmir.

Jammu & Kashmir: In a major success for security forces, the top LeT commander Naseer ud Din Lone of Sopore was Killed along with his Pakistani associate among in an encounter at Ganipora Kralgund area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Also Read: Centre Orders Immediate Withdrawal Of 10,000 Paramilitary Personnel From Jammu & Kashmir Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar told  that Naseer-u-din Lone was involved in killing of 3 CRPF troopers at Sopore on 18 April of this year and 3 CRPF jawans at Handwara on 04th May this year. The other slain militant is believed to be from Pakistan, the officials said. Earlier, a joint team of police, army's 32 RR and CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in the area, there was firing upon the team from militants hiding in the area.  The fire was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
