IAF Airlifts Covid Essentials: Oxygen Cylinders, Medicines, Critical Equipment Flown For States Crippled By Coronavirus

While the country recorded 3,14,835 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours which is a new record for the country making it the world's highest daily spike recorded so far, the Indian Air Force has been pressed into action to augment the government's efforts to contain Covid-19 in the country.
The IAF is transporting medical personnel, critical equipment, and medicines to COVID-19 hospitals and facilities across the country as the country is facing a massive shortage of medical-grade oxygen and several states have been crippled due to lack of facilities.

Taking to Twitter, the IAF said, “The IAF transport fleet is supporting the fight against Covid-19. Airlift of medical personnel, critical equipment, and medicines is underway for Covid Hospitals and facilities across the country.”
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh directed all defence establishments on Tuesday to ramp up efforts and assist civil authorities in extending all possible assistance to people across the country.
The centre has assured that "oxygen demand and supply is being monitored round the clock". Health Minister Harsh Vardhan in a tweet last night said the government has increased "quota of oxygen" for seven states- Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
