I May Be Black But My Intentions Are Fair: Arvind Kejriwal On Channi's 'Black Man' Remark

Arvind Kejriwal responded to Charanjit Singh Channi's controversial 'Kala Angrez' remark and said that people like this black man.

New Delhi: The war of words between Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has intensified. In a controversial statement, Charanjit Singh Channi had termed Arvind Kejriwal as "kale angrej" (black Englishman). Arvind Kejriwal has responded to Channi saying that his colour may be black but his intention is fair.

Punjab Chief Minister Channi described the Aam Aadmi Party as “kale angrej” trying to win the 2022 state assembly elections. Channi said that Kejriwal is going around and announcing he will form the next government in Punjab. Channi said, "Do no people live in Punjab? Are there no youths in Punjab? Are there no Punjabis in Punjab? Will the 'kale angrej' come here and rule?"

Reacting to this, Kejriwal tweeted, "Channi Sahib has been abusing me ever since I said each woman in Punjab will be given Rs 1,000 per month if AAP comes in power.  Channi first said that Kejriwal's clothes are bad. Today he says Kejriwal is 'Kala' (Black).''

Kejriwal's counterattack

Responding to Channi's racist remark, Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal said that though he is black but his intentions are fair. The Chief Minister of Delhi said, "Channi Sahib, my complexion is black. But my mothers and sisters in Punjab like this 'kala' son/brother. They know that my intentions are fair."
