Hyderabad: 29-year-old woman given Triple Talaq by 62-yr-old husband over Whatsapp; seeks help from Sushma Swaraj

Narrating her ordeal, 29-year-old Huma Saira said that she was given triple talaq over Whatsapp by her 62-year-old husband, who was a Oman national.

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman from Hyderabad has accused her husband of giving her Triple Talaq over the phone and has sought help from External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the same. Narrating her ordeal, 29-year-old Huma Saira said that she was given triple talaq over Whatsapp by her 62-year-old husband, who was a Oman national. “I was married to an Oman national in May'17 in Hyderabad. I lived in Oman for 1 year. I gave birth to a baby in 8 months who died in 3 months because of bad health”. She further said that her husband sent her away to her mother’s place in Hyderabad for medical treatment and thereafter gave her Triple Talaq over Whatsapp. “He sent me to my mother's place in Hyderabad on 30 Jul'18 for medical treatment. When I came here, he gave me talaq on WhatsApp on 12 Aug'18 & after that, he is not answering any of my questions”.

She therefore asked External Affairs Ministers Sushma Swaraj to intervene, saying “I request EAM Sushma Swaraj ma'am to help me”.
