'Get Out Stalin' Vs 'Get Out Modi': Tamil Nadu Political Turmoil Escalates Amid Udhayanidhi-Annamalai Clash
The war of words between Udhayanidhi Stalin and Annamalai, centered around slogans "Get Out Modi" and "Get Out Stalin," has further deepened the rift between the parties in Tamil Nadu's politics.

The political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu has intensified following a heated exchange between Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin of the DMK and BJP state chief K Annamalai. The war of words, centered around the slogans "Get Out Modi" and "Get Out Stalin," has further deepened the rift between the parties in Tamil Nadu's political arena.
The controversy began on February 18 when Udhayanidhi Stalin, during a DMK rally opposing the National Education Policy (NEP) and the three-language policy, warned the central government against encroaching on the state's rights. He stated, as per PTI, "Last time, when you attempted to snatch the rights of the Tamils, people launched a 'Go back Modi' campaign. If you try it again with the TN people, this time it will be 'Get out Modi' agitation to send you back."
Following this, Annamalai vowed to retaliate against Udhayanidhi's comments, stating that he would post the "Get Out Stalin" message on his social media at 6 AM on Friday if the Deputy CM repeated his remarks. True to his word, Annamalai followed through, escalating the political confrontation.
In response, BJP state president K Annamalai launched a scathing attack on the DMK government, using the hashtag #GetOutStalin on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Annamalai accused the DMK-led government of corruption, poor governance, and failing to fulfill electoral promises. He wrote, "For high handedness of one family, having a tainted cabinet, being an epicentre of corruption, turning a blind eye to lawlessness, turning TN into a haven for drugs & illicit liquor, mounting debt, dilapidated education ministry, precarious environment for women & children, divisive politics based on caste & religion, ceaseless failures in delivering good governance, flawed policies & not fulfilling electoral promises, this DMK led govt in TN will be dethroned by the people soon. #GetOutStalin."

The spat reflects the ongoing tensions between the DMK and BJP over issues such as central fund allocation, the NEP, and allegations of Hindi imposition on Tamil Nadu. The DMK has consistently opposed the NEP, arguing that it undermines the state's autonomy in education and promotes Hindi at the expense of regional languages.
The BJP, on the other hand, has accused the DMK government of mismanagement and failing to address critical issues such as law and order, education, and women's safety. The party has also criticized the DMK for its alleged divisive politics based on caste and religion.
