Gang duping job seekers busted in Delhi, 5 arrested
The gang had duped hundreds of people across the country and deposited the money in various bank accounts with forged documents, the police said.
New Delhi, Jul 1 (PTI) Five members of a gang that had allegedly duped job seekers on the pretext of getting them jobs in railways were arrested from Keshav Puram area, police said today.
The gang had duped hundreds of people across the country and deposited the money in various bank accounts with forged documents, the police said.
The five accused were identified as Mohd Iqbal, Yash Malik, Lalit Saini, Mohd Irshad and Neeraj Yadav, they said.
Some fake job letters, government letterheads, pamphlets, cash worth Rs 6.58 lakh and two cars were seized, they said.
"During interrogation, the accused said they operated a call centre close by in Keshav Puram. They had a fake website and employed around 30 people, mainly girls studying in colleges, as calling agents with over 50 mobile numbers all taken on fake documents," the police said in an official release.
"These calling agents would call people who would register on their website for government jobs," they said.
