Fake Army Officer Trying To Woo Girls Online Manages To Fool ISI Agent; Arrested By Delhi Police

Dilip Kumar in reality works as a security guard in a school in Uttam Nagar. During interrogation, he revealed that he used to attract girls on social media by pretending to be an army officer. He introduced himself as Captain Shekhar on social media.

New Delhi: South Delhi Police on Friday arrested a man who had been claiming to be an army officer. Interrogation revealed that he used to pose as Captain Shekhar of the Indian Army to attract women on social media. 

The man identified as Dilip Kumar was claiming to be an Army officer and was apprehended in Greater Kailash yesterday.

The police have recovered a fake army ID card, uniform, and mobile phone.

Sub-Inspector Dheeraj of Greater Kailash Police Station had received information on Saturday at around 3 pm that this fake army officer was going to come to the Greater Kailash area, after which the officers laid a trap for him under the leadership of SHO Ritesh Sharma and Dilip was arrested.

Seeing its profile, no one could have guessed that he was a fake army officer. According to the police, Dilip was in Greater Kailash to meet a girl living there who he had called for a date.

Honey Trapped By ISI Agent

Interestingly, according to the police sources, he was also honey-trapped by an ISI agent as she believed him to be a real officer. The interrogation revealed that an ISI agent started honey trapping this fake army officer by claiming to be a divorced bank employee. He was caught in her lies as they interacted through video chats.

Many Pakistani numbers have been found on his mobile phone.

Military Intelligence officers, Special Cell officers, and IB officers arrived at Greater Kailash Police Station to interrogate the arrested fake Army Captain.

The police found that his phone number was associated with more than 100 WhatsApp groups. Hundreds of foreign numbers have also been found on his mobile and he was in touch all through WhatsApp. On checking his mobile, it was found that the accused had also made video calls from international numbers.

The international numbers on which the accused spoke or the international numbers from which the accused have received calls are being investigated.
