Deep Sidhu Death: Police Find Partially Consumed Liquor Bottle From Actor's Car
An FIR has been lodged against the driver of the truck for rash and negligent driving and viscera samples of the actor have been collected.
New Delhi: A partially consumed liquor bottle was recovered from the car of Punjabi actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who died in an accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) highway near Sonipat on Tuesday evening. Sidhu's friend and Punjabi actress Reena Rai was also injured in the accident.
An FIR has been registered for rash and negligent driving against the driver of the truck with which Deep Sidhu's car collided. Viscera samples of the actor have been collected.

"We retrieved a partially consumed liquor bottle from Deep Sidhu's car. It is a case of rash and negligent driving. An FIR has been registered. The driver has been identified and police teams are trying to nab him. Viscera samples have been collected and further action will be taken after analysis of the FSL report," ANI quoted Rahul Sharma, SP Sonipat, as saying.
According to police, Sidhu had sustained serious head injuries in the accident and died on the spot. Visuals showed Sidhu's white SUV badly damaged on the driver's side after it rammed into the stationary truck.

Sidhu, born in 1984 in Punjab's Muktsar district, had a huge fan following in the Punjab film industry. The actor hit the headlines last year during the farmers' protest for his involvement in the Republic Day violence.
Sidhu was accused of being the key conspirator of the violence and was arrested on February 9. He was arrested charges of inciting the agitators during the January 26 tractor rally that was organised by farmers protesting against three farm laws. He was later released on bail.
Sidhu was also a close aide of BJP MP Sunny Deol, who contested from the Gurdaspur seat in Punjab during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
