Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann To Visit Rajasthan Today

AAP convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will visit Rajasthan on August 31 to sound the poll bugle. Kejriwal is likely to release the party's election manifesto. 

If the AAP's social media campaign for Rajasthan is anything to go by, Kejriwal's 'guarantees' for the Rajasthan voters could be 'mohalla clinics' in Rajasthan based on the Delhi model, 24-hour power guarantee, transformation of the school education system in Rajasthan, employment assurances, and confirmation of jobs of contractual workers. 

INDIA Bloc To Hold Crucial Meet Today In Mumbai

 The leaders of the united Opposition bloc INDIA are set to hold a two-day meeting in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1. The bloc comprises 26 Opposition parties who decided to present a united front to face the BJP juggernaut in next year’s general elections.

At this meeting, the bloc will decide on seat sharing, pick members of an 11-member coordination committee, and appoint a convener for the alliance to streamline its working across all states. The official logo of the alliance will also be unveiled during the mega-huddle.

The discussions and deliberations are expected to set the tone for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections when INDIA hopes to dislodge the BJP from power.

Bengaluru Airport's Terminal 2 To Commence International Operations From Today

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru's (BLR Airport) Terminal 2 (T2) is set to commence its international operations, with the first flight scheduled on August 31.

Passengers travelling on Singapore Airlines flight SQ508/SQ509 between Singapore and Bengaluru will be the first to experience the international zone of the new terminal, a BIAL statement said.

IndiGo will be the first Indian carrier to start international operations in T2, with its flight 6E1167 to Colombo.

IAF To Carry Out Major Combat Exercise In Northern Sector

Indian Air Force to carry out major training exercise codenamed Trishul in the northern sector along the borders with both China and Pakistan. All major fleets of fighter aircraft including the Rafale, Mirage 2000 and the Su-30MKIs will be participating in the drills along with heavy-lift transport aircraft and choppers including the Chinooks and Apache. Garud Special Forces are also part of the drills where all elements of air power are likely to be exercised. Exercise to be held from September 4 to 14 in the northern sector including Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab: IAF officials

Delhi MCD Councillors' Allowance Raised From Rs 300 To Rs 25,000 Per Meeting

The councillors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will get Rs 25,000 per meeting allowance for attending the council meeting. As of now, this amount is only Rs 300 per meeting.

The proposal to increase the allowance has been approved, however, the councillors will not get more than Rs 1 lakh per month as allowance.

Mumbai: Man Makes Threat Call To Blow Maharashtra Mantralaya, Held

Bomb detection personnel along with sniffer dogs searched the Maharashtra secretariat in South Mumbai on Thursday after police received a phone call about an explosive being placed in the high-security complex, but it turned out to be a false alarm, an official said.
 
Mumbai Police said, "A threat call to blow up Mantralaya was received. When he was not allowed to speak to CM Eknath Shinde, he threatened that there is a bomb in the Mantralaya. Mumbai Police has begun a search operation. The call was placed by Balkrishna Bhausaheb Dhakne, a resident of Ahmednagar district."

2 Held From Punjab In Connection With Pro-Khalistan Graffiti On Metro Station Walls

Delhi Police apprehended two persons from Punjab in connection with writing pro-Khalistan messages and slogans on the walls of at least five Delhi Metro stations.

HGS Dhaliwal, Special CP, Delhi Police Special Cell says, "Pritpal Singh from Punjab's Faridkot has been arrested while Rajwinder Singh has been detained and is being brought to Delhi where he will be arrested. FIRs transferred to Special Cell."
