BJP Calls Arvind Kejriwal 'Megalomaniac', Says AAP Resorting To 'Old Drama' It Does Before Every State Poll

The AAP has "disintegrated" in Himachal Pradesh and its Uttarakhand chief quit the party even though Kejriwal made tall claims about his party's prospects, Patra said.

New Delhi: Hours after Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed the ruling party in Gujarat is ‘rattled’, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra on Sunday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is resorting to its ‘old drama’ of glorifying corruption and termed Kejriwal a ‘megalomaniac’ who is considering himself as god after winning the elections in two states, news agency PTI reported.

As the war of words intensified between the two parties ahead of the upcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, where the AAP is looking to expand its base, Patra, addressing a presser, said that the AAP was a staunchly dishonest party and that it was a matter of surprise that the AAP leader did not say that US president Joe Biden was also afraid of him.

Taking a swipe at Kejriwal who claimed that his party was "kattar imandaar" (hardcore honest), Patra said it was in fact "kattar beimaan" and corrupt.

“No government has seen so many of its ministers resigning due to various charges in such a short period as has the AAP dispensation,” Patra said, citing Jitender Singh Tomar and Sandeep Kumar among others.

The AAP has "disintegrated" in Himachal Pradesh and its Uttarakhand chief quit the party even though Kejriwal made tall claims about his party's prospects, Patra said.

It is to be noted that earlier in the day, Kejriwal had launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of trying to "crush" the AAP in the name of fighting corruption as the latter feared a defeat in Gujarat elections.

Addressing the first-ever national conclave of his party's elected representatives, CM Kejriwal also alleged that the Modi government has been trying to frame the AAP ministers and leaders in false corruption cases as the BJP is "not able to digest the growing popularity of the AAP in Gujarat".
