10 Lakh Jobs, Law & Order, Education: Challenges Before Tejashwi Yadav If He Becomes Bihar Chief Minister

Bihar Elections 2020: If the prediction turns validated and the Grand Alliance hops to victory, the Yadav scion will be the youngest ever chief minister of a state in India at the age of 31. He will dethrone Nitish Kumar who has governed Bihar three times in a row since 2005.

The most anticipated outcome of the Bihar Assembly Elections will be known in less than a fortnight. Ahead of the final results, various surveys have projected Tejashwi Yadav-led opposition alliance coming in power with the most seats in Bihar and possibly crossing the majority mark while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) placing second. Although no party seems to be getting a clear majority, the mandate looks inclined towards Tejashwi. The mood of the people of Bihar has predicted Rashtriya Janata Dal to emerge as the single largest party with 81-89 seats, JDU taking away 38-46, BJP 66-74, Congress 21-29, Paswan 1-3 and Others 4-8. He will dethrone Nitish Kumar who has governed Bihar three times in a row since 2005. Sweet spoken Yadav has acquired the confidence, and this time around did not even pretend to be under his father’s shadow. Though Tejashwi is now very visible on on social media, and had witnessed larger crowds in election rallies, taking over the Chief Minister seat won't be easy. The youngest CM (if he wins in Assembly elections) will have several challenges and promises to fulfil. Fulfilling Pre-Poll Promise Of Generating 10 Lakh Jobs Mahagathbandhan chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav in his election manifesto promised to generate 10 lakh jobs. “I am promising 10 lakh jobs. I could have also promised one crore jobs just for the sake of the promise. But I am not doing that because this will become a reality in the first meeting of the Cabinet. This will be the first time in the country that 10 lakh employment opportunities will be created at one go. This figure is what we require in the state’s workforce at present." Farm Laws Tejashwi is expected to stand with its ally Congress and their promise over the Controversial Farm laws. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala who was there at the manifesto launch, had declared that if they come to power, their government would repeal the Farm laws which have triggered protests across the country. Among other promises made were that the administration would bear travel expenses of candidates attending exams for government jobs. Twelve percent of the state budget would be spent on education and every panchayat will have one doctor and nurse on duty. The three phase polls in Bihar Assembly elections were held on October 28, November 3, and November 7, and the results will be announced on November 10.
