Amit Shah's Plan For Chandigarh Govt Employees Irks AAP In Punjab, Party Says BJP Is Scared

Responding to the same,  Sisodia said that BJP is scared of AAP’s rising footprints and that is why it is interfering with the administrative work.

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia took a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah Sunday over his plan for Chandigarh government employees.

On Sunday evening, Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stones of multiple development projects in the union territory, after which he addressed the people and said that the service conditions of the employees of Chandigarh administration will be the same as the central services.

Responding to the same,  Sisodia said that BJP is scared of AAP’s rising footprints and that is why it is interfering with the administrative work of the party. He added that BJP did not take away Chandigarh’s powers when Congress was ruling the state.

"From 2017 to 2022, the Congress-ruled Punjab. Amit Shah didn't take away Chandigarh's powers then. As soon as AAP formed the government in Punjab, Amit Shah took away Chandigarh's services. BJP is scared of AAP rising footprint," Sisodia said on Twitter reacting to the home minister's announcement.

Sisodia’s response came after Shah made multiple announcements in Chandigarh. Shah said, “I want to give good news to employees of the Chandigarh administration. From today, service conditions of employees of the Chandigarh administration will now be aligned to that of the central civil services. You (employees) are going to benefit in a big way.”

He added that the Chandigarh administration employees will be benefited in many ways, including the expansion of the child care leave for women employees, which would be two years. Currently the child care leave is for one year.

The political banter has come days after AAP secured a sweeping win in Punjab in the state assembly elections.
