ABP-CVoter 2021 Assembly Elections Opinion Poll Results: This year assembly elections are going to be held in five states of the country. Elections can be held in five states in May. This includes Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, and Assam. Last time, a non-BJP government was formed in four of these states. Only in Assam BJP was able to form a government. There are 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 294 in West Bengal, 126 in Assam, 30 in Puducherry and 140 seats in Kerala.

State-wise data of assembly elections held in 2016

West Bengal - 294

  • TMC contested 293 seats and won 203 to form government in the state.
  • BJP contested 291 seats and Won 3.
  • BSP contested 161 seats but the account did not open.
  • The CPM contested 148 seats and won 23.
  • The Congress tried its luck in 92 seats and won 43 seats.
  • The Gorkha Mukti Morcha had won three seats.
  • One independent candidate had won.
  • The RSP had won three seats.
  • All India Forward Bloc won one seat.

Tamil Nadu-234

  • BJP contested 188 seats but could not win even one seat.
  • Congress contested 41 seats and its eight candidates were successful in winning.
  • The ADMK contested 234 seats and won 135 seats.
  • DMK tried its luck on 180 seats and 88 seats went to his account.
  • IUML won one seat.

Assam-126

  • The BJP contested 89 seats and succeeded in winning 60 seats and formed a government in the state.
  • The CPI contested 15 seats but did not open the account.
  • The Congress contested 122 seats and won 26 seats.
  • The AGP contested 30 seats and won 14.
  • AIUDF tried its luck in 74 seats and got success in 13 seats.
  • The BOPF fielded candidates on 13 seats and won its candidates on 12 and reached the assembly.

Puducherry - 30

  • The BJP contested 30 seats but its account was not open.
  • Congress had contested on 21 and won 15 seats.
  • The ADMK fielded candidates in 30 seats and won 4.
  • AINRC also fielded candidates in 30 seats and had success on 8.
  • DMK tried luck in 9 seats and got success on 2.

Kerala - 140

  • BJP fielded candidates for 98 seats but was successful in only one seat.
  • The Congress fielded candidates for 87 seats and won 22.
  • The CPI fielded 25 seats and won 19.
  • The CPM contested 84 seats and won 58 seats.
  • NCP won 4 seats and won 2.
  • IUML fielded candidates for 23 seats and won 18 seats.
  • JDS tried their luck in 5 seats and won 3.
  • KEC (M) won 15 seats and won 6.
