New Delhi: In a major relief to Aam Admi Party, the Election Commission of India on Thursday withdrew the case against 27 party MLAs pertaining to Rogi Kalyan Samiti matter. Following the EC clean chit, President Ram Nath Kovind has also given his nod to Election Commission’s decision. What is the matter? A person named Vidyarthi Vibhor Anand had filed a complaint in Election Commission stating that 27 AAP MLAs holding senior most position in Rogi Kalyan Samiti are enjoying an office of profit. The complainant had sought that the MLAs should be disqualified from their position and should be ousted from the Assembly. In the complaint, it was mentioned that the MLAs can hold the position as a member in Rogi Kalyan Samiti, but cannot hold a post of a Chief. The court however dismissed this complaint, giving a huge breather to Aam Aadmi Party and its supremo Arvind Kejriwal. Taking congnizance of the chargesheet filed by the police, 13 people including CM Kejriwal, and Manish Sisodia were summoned by the court as accused.
