Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS, Sunday, June 20, 2021: The Assam government has set a target of inoculating three lakh people every day from June 21 under the enhanced vaccination programme, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday.
Sarma said that in view of the enhanced vaccination programme under which three lakh people in the state would receive vaccine doses everyday, the district administrations should ramp up the matching infrastructure to make the campaign a success.
During a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners (DC) and District Superintendent of Police of all 34 districts via video conferencing, the Chief Minister had asked the health department to generate adequate awareness by sufficient publicity.
The Goa government on Saturday extended the Covid-19 curfew till June 28.
Fish markets and stores in malls, barring some exceptions, will remain open in the next phase of the state level curfew which begins from Monday for a period of seven days.
"State level curfew will be extended till 7 am, June 28, 2021. Shops in shopping malls, except cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment zones allowed to be open between 7 am and 3 pm. Fish market may also open," Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tweeted.

Gurugram Malls, Hotels & Pubs Offer Free Parking, Heavy Discounts To Vaccinated Customers
In a bid to push city's inoculation drive, several pubs, restaurants, hotels and malls in Haryana's Gurugram are offering heavy discounts to customers who have taken the vaccine jab againt Covid-19.
According to reports, owners of malls and restaurants are offering 50 per cent discount to those who are fully vaccinated and 25 per cent to those who have taken the first jab of Covid vaccine.
A Gurugram mall has started an initiative for heathcare workers while pub, bar and restaurants in the Millenium city of India have rolled-out special offers for vaccinated people. The famous Ambience Mall in Gurugram has announced free parking and discounted rates on shopping from different brands available in the mall to healthcare workers. Similarly, several bars and pubs have offered special discounts to people who are vaccinated against the deadly disease.
Less Than 5000 New COVID Cases In Karnataka, 120 Deaths
Karnataka reported less than 5,000 new COVID-19 cases and 120 deaths on Sunday, taking the total caseload to 28.06 lakh and the toll to 33,883. The day also saw 8,456 discharges, continuing to outnumber fresh cases, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 26,45,735.
Out of the 4,517 new cases, 933 were from Bengaluru Urban, as the city saw 1,902 discharges and 12 deaths. The total number of active cases in the state is now 1,26,813. While the positivity rate stood at 2.58 per cent, the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) was 2.65 per cent.
Out of the 120 deaths reported on Sunday, 17 were from Mysuru, Bengaluru Urban and Ballari (12), Dakshina Kannada and Dharwad (11), Mandya (8) and Davangere (7),followed by others.
Among the districts where the new cases were reported, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 933, Mysuru 545, Dakshina Kannada 525, Hassan 346, while the rest were scattered in other districts. Bengaluru Urban district headed the list of positive cases, with a total of 12,05,259, followed by Mysuru 1,62,083 and Tumakuru 1,13,685.
Among discharges too, Bengaluru Urban was on top with 11,18,531, followed by Mysuru 1,52,541 and Tumakuru 1,09,145. Cumulatively a total of 3,27,39,539 samples have been tested in the state so far, out of which 1,74,521 were done on Sunday alone.
