'Bulldozers Of Hate': Opposition Slams Centre Over Demolition Drive In Violence Hit-Jahangirpuri

Jahangirpuri demolition drive: Supreme Court stayed the action of MCD with immediate effect, while on the other hand, the war of words between the politicians has intensified regarding this matter.

New Delhi: Amid the encroachment drive in Delhi's Jahangirpuri, from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the opposition has launched an attack on the government on Wednesday.

While hearing the matter today, the Supreme Court stayed the action of MCD with immediate effect, while on the other hand the war of words between the politicians has intensified regarding this matter.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "This is a demolition of India’s constitutional values. This is state-sponsored targeting of poor & minorities. BJP must bulldoze the hatred in their hearts instead"

AIMIM leader Owaisi said, BJP has waged a war against the poor. Like UP and MP, houses will be demolished in Delhi in the name of encroachment. No notice, no chance to go to court... this is only a punishment for poor Muslims.

“Turkman Gate 2022, history tells you those in power in 1976 are a spent force in present times, this BJP & AAP should be remember. Power is not eternal [sic],” he tweeted.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Gehlot has launched an attack on the BJP government saying, "People in power should stop attempts to foment violence and condemn it. But just the opposite is happening."

In a reference to the communal incident in Rajasthan’s Karauli on Ram Navami. Gehlot said: “I have heard that the PM is calling MPs from Rajasthan and asking them what they were doing.”

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav also expressed his protest by tweeting that there is outrage across the country regarding the bulldozers.

"There is outrage across the country over the bulldozers. The BJP is illegally declaring the construction of its opponents illegal and is getting bulldozers running. Now the public will launch a movement to check the legality of construction of houses, offices, business establishments of BJP and will bring the truth in front of everyone," Yadav said.

In another tweet, sharing a clip purportedly from the site of the incident, the SP lawmaker accused the ruling party of making the bulldozer a "symbol of its illegal power" and suggested that the BJP make it their symbol.

"Muslims and other minorities, backward and Dalits are on their target. Now even Hindus are becoming victims of their hysteria. The BJP is actually running this bulldozer on the Constitution itself," he added.

The CRPF, Delhi Police and the force started a flag march in the area before the bulldozers started operating on the illegal construction. Delhi Police Special Commissioner Law and Order Deependra Pathak and many other senior officers reached the spot.
