Andhra Pradesh: TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu Writes To DGP For Maintenance Of Law And Order In State

Chandrababu Naidu said that since June 2019, YSRCP goons have been resorting all sorts of violence and lawlessness across the state.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday wrote a letter to the Director-General of Police (DGP) Rajendranath Reddy, urging him to take immediate measures to maintain law and order in the state so that people, particularly women, can live in safety.

In the letter, the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister said that since June 2019, YSRCP goons had been resorting to all sorts of violence and lawlessness across the state.

He said that several incidents of violence, atrocities against women, robbery, verbal abuse, illegal and nefarious activities have taken place across Andhra Pradesh in the past few days.

"In spite of such blatant and broad daylight illegal activities, violence, molestations and threats, the YSRCP-led government's apathy towards lawlessness in the state is appalling," Naidu said in his letter.

Further, Naidu said the ruling YSRCP leaders were promoting liquor, ganja and drugs, which in turn was leading to an increase in crime rate.

In his letter, Naidu referred to the attack on Gopalapuram MLA T Venkat Rao for his alleged role in the murder of a leader of his party at G Kothapalli village in Eluru district and the gang rape of a woman at Repalle railway station.

"There is no doubt that the ruling YSRCP leaders had planned and executed the murder by bringing in factionalism and violent culture to otherwise peaceful place like Eluru district," said Naidu.

He said a bank was robbed in Narsingbilli village in Kasimkota mandal in Anakapalle district on April 30, 2022, of Rs.3.3 lakh at gun point. "Such robbery of a bank was unheard in Andhra Pradesh in recent times and it clearly points out to government's failure in maintaining law and order in the state," he further said.

The miscreants who raped the woman at Repalle railway station were under the influence of alcohol and ganja, said Naidu.

Another source of concern was the discovery of a new narcotics ring in Vijayawada. Naidu demanded that the government take meaningful steps to ensure that people feel safe.
