2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS Variant Launched At Rs 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi)

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has launched the ABS-equipped variant of the Gixxer at Rs 87,250, which is Rs 6,321 more than the rear disc brake-equipped variant priced at Rs 80,929 (both ex-showroom Delhi).

The Suzuki Gixxer ABS retains the all the features as the rear disc variant, which includes AHO headlight, LED tail lamp and a full digital speedometer.

Similarly, the Gixxer ABS uses the same mechanical components with no change in power and torque figures either. Powering the bike is a BSIV-compliant 154.9cc single-cylinder engine that continues to produce 14.8PS of power at 8000rpm, with peak torque of 14Nm generated at 6000rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.

With the addition of ABS, the Gixxer now seems better equipped to take on the Apache 160 4V, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ S FI (V 2.0) and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160.

New Delhi, May 28, 2018: Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, today rolled-out Gixxer – the popular street sport motorcycle, with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) feature.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said, “Ever since its launch, the Gixxer has emerged as a benchmark for the segment, managing to ‘Stay Ahead of the Pack’ in terms of technology and performance. The ABS option allows us to improve on an already exciting riding experience for our Gixxer customers. The Gixxer series is an important cog of our India product-strategy. With enhancements like ABS, we will continue to improve on the value-proposition we offer to our customers.”

The Gixxer ABS variant comes fitted with a front wheel speed sensor to detect wheel speed for better stability and controlled braking force. Equipped with Ultra-Light Weight Engine, the Gixxer ABS has  an all-aluminium 4-stroke single cylinder 154.9cc BS-IV engine that produces 14.8ps@8000rpm,14Nm@6000rpm, powered by cutting-edge SEP Technology- for powerful performance without compromising on fuel efficiency. Furthermore, Gixxer ABS is equipped with Suzuki Jet cooling system (SJCS) to ensure better cooling of engine resulting in better power and mileage.

The Gixxer ABS redefines the style & sturdiness with its unique features and design elements that include AHO Headlight, LED tail lamp, fully digital speedometer, large diameter with front and back disc brake further add value to the quality of riding and enhances the style quotient of the street sport motorcycle. For better manoeuvring, it comes up with large-diameter Front Forks that increases the rigidity around the front section and reduces the weight of the motorcycle.

Features like sporty twin exhaust, a 3-spoke light wheel, stepped seat with distinctive design and Two-piece rear fender for sporty look will enhance the riding experience of the Gixxer ABS.

The Gixxer/SF motorcycles continue to receive accolades even today, emerging as the most-appealing Upper Executive Motorcycle, and the Best Upper Executive Motorcycle in Initial Quality; as per the JD Power India study.

The new Suzuki Gixxer ABS will be available in three colours namely Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver and Glass Sparkle Black; and the starting price of INR 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi).
