New Delhi: The all new Mahindra MPV has recently spotted testing at near Mahindra’s vehicle development centre, Mahindra Research Valley. According to the sources, Mahindra had already begun work on a new MPV that would likely replace the ageing Xylo.
This new vehicle possesses the traditional tall MPV stance with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs for the maximum interior room. The headlights of this new car have many resemblances with the recently-launched Mahindra Imperio pickup, while the bumper looks a little bit of tall with a prominent air intake and provisions for fog lamps. The new car has a very cab-forward shape, with a relatively short bonnet, which again should translate to the better interior room.
Not yet, there are no interior pictures are revealed. But we can expect ample room for eight passengers and segment-rivalling creature comforts and equipment levels.
Mahindra is planning to introduce the new 1.99-litre diesel engine into this MPV. Though the company already started working on a larger-capacity petrol engine from the same new-generation 'mFalcon' family that originated in the KUV100, which could also find its way under this MPV's bonnet in the future.
The manufacturer has announced that the new MPV will hit the Indian market in the second half of 2017.
