WATCH: Tourists Flock To Himachal Hill Stations As Heat In Northern Plains Soars

Tourists are flocking to Himachal Pradesh's hill stations as temperatures in the plains soar.

As the temperature rises in the plains, tourists flock to Himachal Pradesh's hill stations, where the weather is pleasant. Dharmshala had the state's lowest minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius. Many people come to Dharamshala to learn about Buddhism. The Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile are based in this city.

"The weather has been quite hot recently," Raghav, a visitor from Delhi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.  "We've travelled here from the hot plains. So we decided to visit the Himachal Pradesh hills. We are having a good time here because the temperature is around 18 degrees during the day, whereas it is above 40 degrees in Rajasthan or other areas," he added.

Raghav expressed an interest in visiting Buddhist monasteries to learn more about Buddhism. "We're having a good time here.

Another tourist, Suraj, quoted by ANI, "We came here to enjoy the weather. A growing number of people are coming here."

A foreign tourist stated that he came to India to meet the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader.

"I came here to meet the Dalai Lama and learn about Tibetan Buddhism," said Daniel Berger of the United States. Many people have come for the climate alone. They are having a good time. Some, however, came to learn about Tibetan Buddhism," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

According to the Meteorological Centre Shimla, this year saw the most rainfall in Shimla and Bhuntar in the last 30 years.
