It is essentially a short-term stay visa not exceeding 90 days. You can also take part in short training programs, internships, conferences, and remunerated activities. For this type of Visa, you can apply anytime between 6 months to two weeks before your trip
  2. National Visa: Known as a Long-stay visa, this is for any visit exceeding 90 days in France. However, this visa is also for a three-month to one-year duration. For this category of visa, you can apply between 6 months to 1 month before the time of your trip.

Travel Logistics

Paris is almost 6500 Km away from India and requires a 9 to 12-hour air travel from cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Although Paris has three major airports, Charles de Gaulle is the nearest and most accessible. Air India, Jet Airways and Air France provide direct air services between India and France regularly.

You can also opt for a road drive, although it would take weeks to reach crossing multiple borders and cost more.

Getting around Pairs is quite easy. To save money, a special Olympic Travel Pass offers unlimited travel to all Olympic venues throughout the season. Also, regular transport modes like bicycles, cabs, Taxis, buses, and trains will be operating at full capacity. Public transport will be the cheaper option rather than driving your own vehicle and will also help you avoid traffic.

Be cautious when booking accommodation during the Olympic season, as prices will be higher, especially in popular areas like Stade Roland Garros or Bois De Boulogne. If you are looking for a budget-friendly stay away from the hustle and bustle, consider booking in the outskirts of the city. Despite the influx of visitors, Paris will offer some of the most unique and affordable stays. Airbnb, Couchsurfing, homestays, and hostels will be your options to save a few bucks.

While a lifetime may not be enough to explore Paris fully, a 6–7 day trip will provide a fantastic vacation. You can either plan your itinerary or opt for a tour package that covers all must-see spots and activities. This trip might cost you around Rs. 1.50 lakh to 2 Lakhs.
