About 12 km from Ernakulam city, Fort Kochi Beach is a perfect summer getaway known for its colonial history and laid-back atmosphere. The area is charming with the Chinese fishing nets and remnants of Dutch and Portuguese architecture like the Jewish synagogue and Dutch palace. It was the first European township in India and retains that old charm even today.

About 50 km to the north of Thiruvananthapuram, Varkala Beach is famous for its grand cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea. With great views from the lighthouse, calm waters here invite swimming and water sports. The Ayurvedic spas and beachside cafes are an added attraction.
