Kajri Teej 2021: Date, Rituals, Significance & All You Need To Know About The Festival
Kajri Teej Vrat Date: Kajri Teej Vrat will be observed on August 25. Married women should perform puja in this manner and read or listen to "vrat katha" for long married life and for bearing children.
New Delhi: According to the Hindu Panchang, the fast of Kajri Teej is observed on the third day of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadon. Kajri Teej Vrat will be observed on August 25 in 2021. On this day, married women observe a strict fast (without water or food) for good fortune, child bearing and long life of husband and perform puja rituals. Locals also call Kajali Teej as "Badi teej" or "saturi teej".
Ritual For Kajri Teej Fast
According to Hindu religion, Neemdi Mata is worshipped on Kajri Teej. She is considered to be a form of Mother Parvati. On the day of Kajri Teej, take a bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and then take a resolve to observe fast and worship at the dedicated place of worship at home.
Prepare "malpuas" as an offering to Neemdi Mata. Make a pond with clay or cow dung for worship. Put a neem twig on it and place a red chunari (stole)o n it and then place "Neemdi" on it .
Now worship the goddess, by dressing up beautifully and by observing a strict fast, without consuming water and food. Offer turmeric, mehndi, vermilion, bangles, red chunari, sattu and mal pua to neemdi mata.
Worship the moon and give it the offerings. Then have water from your husband's hand and complete the fast. There is a religious belief that by the grace of the Goddess, long and a prosperous married life is attained.
Story of Kajri Teej: Married women must read or listen to the vrat katha of Kajri Teej at the time of worship of Mata Neemdi. Only then the fast is believed to be successful and complete.
