Celebrations Amid Covid-19

As already witnessed throughout the year, the Coronavirus pandemic has affected the celebrations of all festivals, and the same is expected with the Diwali week. People are advised to follow all necessary precautions such as social distancing, wearing a mask and avoiding crowding. This year, Indians face the double whammy of Covid-19 and air pollution and hence, states like Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Karnataka have banned the bursting of crackers to prevent an already alarming situation from escalating. As PM Narendra Modi urged citizens in an earlier address, "Jab tak dawai nahi tab tak dhilaai nahi" (No negligence till there is a vaccine) should be the motto this year.
