In the court proceedings, senior advocate CV Nagesh, representing Revanna, contended that section 364A, addressing kidnapping for ransom, necessitates both abduction and a threat or demand.
He argued that mere abduction alone does not fulfill the requirements outlined in this section.
HD Revanna is facing multiple accusations which include allegations of kidnapping and alleged sexual misconduct concerning a former domestic employee. The individual reportedly experienced assault by HD Revanna's son, Prajwal Revanna, who serves as the Member of Parliament from Hassan. HD Revanna was granted bail in relation to these allegations on May 13, as reported by The News Minute.
