West Bengal: Angry mob kills two suspected cow thieves in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal) [India], Aug 27 (ANI): Two suspected cow smugglers were allegedly beaten to death by angry mob near Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal on Sunday.

Police sources said that those killed were identified as Anwar Hussein, resident of Coochbehar and Hafijul Sekh, resident of Dhubri district of Assam.

According to Subash Mandal, Local Panchayat member, the incident took place at Barohalia village near Dhupguri when three people entered their village and allegedly managed to steal few cows.

Some villagers, who were on night patrolling duty, caught them with the cows and started beating them.

One of them managed to flee from the spot, but Anwar and Hafijul were heavily beaten by the angry villagers and lost their lives. (ANI)
