INX media case: Karti's CA's judicial custody extended

New Delhi [India], Mar 9 (ANI): A Delhi Court on Friday extended the judicial custody of Karti Chidambaram's charted accountant S. Bhaskararaman by 14 days in connection with INX media money laundering case.

Bhaskararaman, on February 28, had filed a bail plea in a Delhi court in connection with the said case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested him in Delhi on February 16.

In May 2017, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had registered a money laundering case against Karti for his role in facilitating FIPB clearance for INX Media Ltd and its directors, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea - both accused in the murder of Sheena Bora -and others.

Karti was arrested by the CBI at Chennai airport on February 28.

He illegally took service charges for getting the FIPB clearance to the INX Media for receiving funds from abroad worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 when his father was the finance minister in the Congress-led UPA Government. (ANI)
