Class 1 boy's stabbing: Lucknow school principal taken into custody

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan 18 (ANI): The principal of Brightland School, where a class 1 student was attacked with a kitchen knife yesterday allegedly by a senior school girl, has been taken under police custody.

Lucknow SSP Deepak Kumar, while talking to media, said that a girl student of class 6 is the suspect.

"A kitchen knife was used for the attack. We have sent the hair found on the body of the child for a DNA test. The suspect will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. The principal has been arrested", Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also met the injured boy in the King George's Medical University (KGMU) today.

The boy was attacked on Wednesday inside the school premises, but the matter came to light after the KGMU authorities revealed about it to the media.

The police was informed about the incident by the school only when the reporters reached the trauma center. (ANI)
