'J&K Open To New Era Now': LG Manoj Sinha Hails PM Modi At G20 Meet

Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha chaired the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting on Tuesday during which he hailed PM Modi saying that J&K is now open to a new era.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha  said that for 30 years J&K had to suffer from state-sponsored terrorism by the neighbouring country, however, due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts it is now open to a new era. He said this while chairing the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting which is being attended by over 60 delegates. He also said that J&K is now one of the most developed states of the nation because of the development schemes that PM Modi brought.

While addressing the meeting, LG Sinha said, "J&K has always been the center of knowledge, wisdom a d breathtaking landscape. For 30 years this land of peacefulness had to suffer from state-sponsored terrorism by our neighbouring country. However, PM Modi brought development schemes that empowered the state. J&K is now open to a new era that is open to growth, peace and development. Today J&K stands as one of the developed states in the country."

He further said that Jammu and Kashmir has scaled up drastically, with a record number of tourists visiting the Valley.

The union territory of Jammu and Kashmir became a host to the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting on Monday under India's G20 Presidency. The Day 1 of the G20 tourism meet happened despite a boycott from China and Pakistan. J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Dr Jitendra Singh and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant joined the meet on the second day viz. Tuesday.
