New Delhi: Sony Entertainment Television’s show ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ has been quite a lot in news from last few days. Viewers were against the concept of 9-year-old boy getting married to a 21-year-old girl. After an online petition was signed by thousands of people to ban the show, I&B Minister Smriti Irani decided to take action against the show. She wrote to the BCCC (Broadcasting Content Complaints Council- the self-regulatory mechanism for GEC content) to take the immediate action on priority basis.

Well, a lot has been said against the show. Producer Shashi Mittal has finally surrendered to the demands of audience. If the reports are to be believed, makers are now planning for a huge leap in the show. As per report in an entertainment portal, “Leap will come earlier than expected. We will see Diya as a 30-year-old and Ratan will be 21. It will also be the time when their marriage will get legalised. Their relationship will be that of friends. Some sources suggest that a twist will come when Diya will get hitched to Abhay (Suyyash Rai).” Another change that has been done in the show is shift of time slot. Earlier show was broadcasted at 8:30 PM and now it has been shifted to 10PM.
