'Crime Patrol' Actress Preksha Mehta Commits Suicide; Her LAST Message Is Heartbreaking

Preksha Mehta, who also worked in shows like 'Laal Ishq' and 'Meri Durga', left behind a suicide note.

New Delhi: TV actress Preksha Mehta, who worked in Sony TV’s ‘Crime Patrol’, committed suicide at her home in Indore. She was 25. According to media reports, Preksha hanged herself from a ceiling fan on Monday (May 25) night. She left behind a suicide note but didn’t reveal the reason behind taking the drastic step. Preksha, who also featured in shows like ‘Meri Durga’ and ‘Laal Ishq’, was reportedly suffering from depression after she couldn’t find work due to the COVID-19 lockdown. She returned back to her hometown Indore a few days before the lockdown was announced. Preksha had posted a heartbreaking message on her Instagram story before committing suicide. She shared an emotional post, which read, "चहरे की हंसी के पीछे ऎसा बहुत कुछ छुपा होता हैं जिसे हर कोई नहीं समझ सकता। प्रेक्षा का आखरी स्टेटस था-"सबसे बुरा होता हैं सपनों का मर जाना" हमें मेंटल हेल्थ के लिए उतना ही जागरूक होना होगा जितना कि हम फिजिकल हेल्थ के लिए होते हैं। हमारे "एम.पी.एस.डी." परिवार की एक सदस्य अब नहीं रही। (A lot of things are hidden behind the smile on a face that everyone cannot understand. Preksha's last status on Instagram was about the death of dreams. We have to make people aware about mental health as much as we do for physical health. We have lost a family member of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama.)
Preksha was an alumni of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama. Theatre artist Puneet Tiwari, who learned acting with Preksha in MPSD, expressed shock after hearing about her death. "Preksha went to Indore a few days before the nationwide lockdown was announced. She belonged to a well-to-do family. The news of her death is quite shocking. She was a lively and chirpy girl," Puneet exclusively told ABP News's correspondent Ravi Jain. Preksha had earlier shared a promo of her episode from 'Crime Patrol' on social media. Check it out!
